The Resource Recovery Center is for City of Newton residents ONLY – for material generated from Newton residences, no commercial materials or commercial vehicles. Open to all Newton residents, including those that do not receive curbside service. Proof of Newton residency required upon request. Please check website for up-to-date operating hours (changes seasonally).

In addition to the categories listed below, we offer collection of: cardboard, cooking oil, food scraps, organics, mattresses/box springs, single stream recycling (bottles, cans, jugs, &tubs made of metal, plastic & glass, plus junk mail, office paper, newspaper, magazines).

Mattresses/box springs & TV’s/computer monitors require a fee for drop off. Payment can be made at www.newtonma.gov/billpay.

Please check the website for the schedule of services only open in the warmer months: the swap shop (for items in good, clean, usable condition), household hazardous waste collection days, paper shredding day, the latex paint exchange, & book shed (books <10 years old). CDs and DVDs in original packaging.
