The Resource Recovery Center is for City of Newton residents ONLY. Open to all Newton residents, including those that do not receive curbside service. Proof of Newton residency required upon request. Newton businesses are allowed to bring cardboard and single stream recycling. Please check website for up-to-date operating hours (changes seasonally).

In addition to the categories listed below, we offer collection of: cardboard, cooking oil, organics, mattresses/box springs, and single stream recycling (bottles, cans, jugs, &tubs made of metal, plastic & glass, plus junk mail, office paper, newspaper, magazines), and books.

Mattresses/box springs & TV’s/computer monitors require a fee for drop off. Payment can be made at www.newtonma.gov/billpay.

Latex paint is only accepted for reuse and residents can take latex paint to use.

Shredded paper is only accepted at paper shredding days that happen in spring and fall.

Please check the website for the schedule of services only open in the warmer months: the Swap Shop (for items in good, clean, usable condition), household hazardous waste collection days, paper shredding days, the latex paint exchange, & Book Shed (books <10 years old).
