Recycling Accepted
Plastic: Bottles, Jugs, Jars, and Tubs (empty and rinse)
Metal: Food and Beverage Cans, Aluminum Foil (empty and rinse)
Glass: Bottles and Jars (empty and rinse)
Paper and Cardboard: Mixed Paper, Newspaper, Magazines, Boxes (empty and flatten), Pizza Boxes (grease okay, remove food/paper)

Swap Shop (open year-round on transfer station schedule): Free give/take of reusable, good quality items, home goods, and furnishings in working condition.

Textiles: When dropping off textiles (clothes, towels, bedding, plush toys, purses, shoes, etc.), please be sure items are clean and dry and placed in a plastic bag.

Compost Bins and Kitchen Scrap Buckets are available for purchase. See a compost demo at our annual Ashby Pumpkin Fest in October.

Other Services
Ashby residents have access to Devens Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center (9 Cook St.(Rear) Devens). From March to December, Devens HHW is open the first Wednesday & following Saturday from 9am-1pm, March to December. (Except for holidays & weather permitting) Devens HHW accepts flammable, toxic, corrosive, and reactive household products. Paint and many other items are accepted. Paper shredding is available at the annual Townsend Earth Day event in April.

Used medication and sharps can be dropped off at the Ashby Police Station.
